Frequently Asked Questions

What happens during my consultation?

During the consultaion process we go through all your details and medical history. We asses you for suitability for a sports massage, we asses any injuries or pain that you may have. We devise a treatment plan that you are happy with and. The consultaion takes about 15 minutes to complete fully.

What do I wear for my massage treatment?

You can wear your underwear during your treatment and consultion process. We may need to assess your posture so taking outer layers of clothes off may be necessary. We would only do this if you were happy to do so. During the treatment process you wll be given a towel to lay under which will cover you. Whilst you are getting ready the therapist will step out of the room and again at the end of the treatment.

What if I cant make my treatment and I have paid for it?

That is not a problem as we know life can sometimes get in the way. There is no expiry date to your purchase. You can log onto the system and manage your appointment yourself. You can also text us to rearrange an appointment. All we ask is that you allow 24 hours notice when cancelling appointments, otherwise this could result in a penalty fee. Slots are booked based on availability and if you dont make us aware of cancelling then we lose that slot to book other patients in. This may result in a forfeit of payment.

Is there parking available on site?

The gym has free parking. The clinic in Birmingham has paid street parking, although there are some free bays and they are taken up on a first come first serve basis. The clinicn in Oldbury has free street parking.

Can I bring a Chapperone with me?

Yes of course, we have the faciulity for you to bring a chaperone. If you want a chaperone and cannot bring one yourslef let us know and we will try and provide one for you.

Can I book an emergency appointment at short notice?

Yes, you can. Just give us a call or drop us a message and we will call you back. We will book you in fo ran emergnecy appointment same day if possible or at the earliest convineance.

How painful are the treatments?

The will be some degree of discomfort. This depends on the injury or pain you are feeling. However, we can vary the degree of pressure to suit your threshold. Throughout the treatment your therapist will ask how you are feeling so can gauge this without you prompting.

Will I get pain and bruising after treatement?

You may experience DOMS (delayed onset of muscle sorness) a few days after tretament. This feels like you have just worked out and should sissapear witin a week. You will not and should not get bruising from a sports massage, our thorough consultaion process will determine if your do bruise easily. Cupping does not bruise, but it does leave marks that look like bruises. These marks are the release of toxins and should dissapear within a week to two weeks.

Is there anything I need to do to plan for my treatment?

You can eat a couple of hours before your treatment as we advise not to eat anything until two hours after treatment. Stay well hydrated throughout the day before your treatment. Other than that there is nothing specific you need to do.

Is there anything I need to do after my treatment?

We advise that you do not eat anything for 2 hours after your treatment. This is due to blood being diverted to the stomach to help digest your food, instead of it staying in the areas we have treated. You can drink plenty of fluids. After treatment you might feel a little light headed and this is normal, your therapist will be on hand to help with anything you need after treatment.
